HELLO PAIN MY OLD FRIEND
Hello pain my old friend
I’ve come to you alone again
If you want to cut me into halves
Please leave my heart out because he already has
I had a bad dream again; another one of my nightmares
If day and night were a company you’d see in the papers, ‘For Sale – Night Shares’
The days were really bright with this one and day was happy
Night required sleep services but lately, I lie in bed alone since the relationship got to 'do you still love me'?
So now i have sleepless nights to deal with
For it is at night that my singleness gets the better of me having no-one to be with
I know I said goodbye to you
That I was never coming back to you
Are old friends, you and I, really the best?
Or is love just a test?
That I’d keep coming to you every time
I promise to send someone next time
Nobody seems care when they break a heart these days
He said the usual today, forever and always
And introduced me to all his friends and even pain
I told him I already knew you but he said love was pain
So here I am saying hello again
