Miracle

MIRACLE
Praying for money
When nothing is as sweet as honey
Or hoping for the best
When change comes only after a test

Forgoing the norms to make room for the new
Who knew
That a miracle had legs but cannot walk
And a mouth but cannot talk

Bridging the gap
Too many attempts when all we need is a nap
The task was not to perform but to hope
Miracle was a fine thread not a boxing ring rope

The sound of a miracle was in a shout
The ‘hurrah!!!’ and ‘thank God’ we sometimes couldn’t do without
The picture thereof a smile
Broad and wide like the Nile

Mr Jailer made me a prisoner with his chain
And my freedom cry, my miracle was to come out again
My miracle today kicked my tummy
With a leg that cannot walk and a mouth that cannot talk, my miracle crawls in me
