NOT FUN ANYMORE
A graph of life with X and Y axes
Striking time against fun .i.e.
Words of advice never failed to grow
Memory became the saddest show
The days that have come and gone were fun
Yet we said it had all just begun
Maybe
After all, memories are all that can save me
Wishing I could use a telescope to see tomorrow today
For the days that come forth are not fun anymore, I say
My name changed from Aubrey (even baby D) through Mr. Aidoo to dada and the late
Street lights seem to smile at night but turn sad when I’m driving away home from a date
Away home where another morning will start
And my TV set will show no Yasser Arafat
It’s not fun anymore
Mama won’t scold me for the water on the floor
And she can’t say it’s too late to stay out
Because she herself is out
Out of the work which is not fun anymore
